Arcanaut Arc II Bone Head Watch: A Bold Experiment in Design and Craftsmanship

The Arcanaut Arc II Bone Head Watch is a striking testament to pushing the boundaries of watch design and craftsmanship. Priced at £3732, this watch is the result of a bold experiment that combined the talents of “Badger” and a host of unconventional materials—electric blue lume discs, aerospace-grade aluminium foam, and industrial resin. The end result is an experimental masterpiece that captures the spirit of innovation, appealing to collectors who appreciate something truly unique.

The Bone Head design journey began with a spark of creativity, fueled by the vision of blending traditional craftsmanship with an industrial edge. The first prototype made such a profound impression on the Arcanaut team that they couldn’t resist showing it off—even under less-than-conventional circumstances. It’s that kind of excitement and unbridled passion that makes this watch truly special. This creation embraces the bold, unconventional approach Arcanaut has become known for, and it’s sure to turn heads wherever you wear it.

The Arc II Bone Head features a 316L stainless steel case that’s CNC milled north of Copenhagen, with tolerances down to a micron. This precision ensures a perfect fit and finish, highlighting the unique “skeleton framing” decoration with matte micro-blasted recesses that give the watch an industrial yet elegant aesthetic. The watch’s “Pentablock” crown is another standout feature—CNC milled with micron-level tolerances to fit seamlessly into the side of the case, it’s as much a piece of art as it is a functional component.

The watch hands are a testament to Danish craftsmanship. Laser-cut and micro-welded, these light blue PVD-coated steel hands are produced in southern Denmark before being coated in Switzerland. The subtle glow of the blue hands is not only visually striking but also makes the watch incredibly legible. For an added twist, the Bone Head’s caseback features a luminous “Glowpatch” design that is deeply laser-engraved and hand-filled with high-performance liquid lume by RC Tritec in Switzerland. This adds a captivating element to the watch, ensuring it looks just as stunning in the dark as it does in daylight.

Powering the Arc II Bone Head is a Swiss-made automatic movement by Soprod, which has been regulated in-house by Arcanaut’s watchmakers in Copenhagen. The precision of this movement, combined with the experimental design approach, makes the Bone Head a true standout in Arcanaut’s lineup. It’s a watch that challenges norms and embodies the brand’s commitment to pushing the limits of what a timepiece can be. For those looking for a watch that combines technical prowess with an adventurous spirit, the Arcanaut Arc II Bone Head is the ultimate statement piece.
