A Legacy in Denim: The Weiss Limited Edition 38mm Automatic Standard Issue Field Watch

In the small, hallowed world of independent American watchmaking, Cameron Weiss has become a standard-bearer for heritage and meticulous, hands-on craftsmanship. To celebrate five years of his eponymous workshop in Nashville, Tennessee, Weiss has unveiled what is arguably his most elevated release to date: the Weiss Limited Edition 38mm Automatic Standard Issue Field Watch with a Textured Denim Dial.

This is not just a new colourway; it is a statement of intent, a piece that blends American industrial history with the quiet, considered luxury of modern horology.

This exclusive edition, strictly limited to just 50 timepieces, marks a striking evolution in the brand’s design language. The dial, the true soul of the watch, is a hand-painted naval brass base finished with a deep blue, textured “denim” face, an immediate nod to American workwear heritage.

This is only the third time Weiss has utilised textured dials and applied numerals, a subtle but significant move that adds visual depth and a refined, premium feel. As a proud declaration of its origin, “Nashville, TN” is printed on the dial, cementing its place as a celebratory milestone.

The case, a modern interpretation of the classic military field watch, is milled from 316L stainless steel and, at 38mm, sized for timeless wear. Every detail is considered. The timepiece is paired with a handmade strap of Alden Snuff suede, sourced from the renowned CF Stead Tannery in England.

Supple yet resilient, it is designed to conform to the wrist and develop a deep, rich patina over time—becoming uniquely yours. This is the essence of quiet luxury: understated, refined, and enduring.

This watch is not just a design exercise; it is a robust tool. Housed within the case is the Weiss Caliber 2130, a 2892A2-based automatic movement, meticulously hand-finished and assembled in the Nashville workshop.

It features a 42-hour power reserve, Incabloc shock protection, and a custom date mechanism, all secured behind a screw-down crown that ensures water resistance up to 300 feet. It is a timepiece crafted to be cherished for generations, a legacy in steel and sapphire.

This level of hand-finished exclusivity, priced at £2633, is an investment in both enduring quality and the remarkable story of true American craftsmanship.
