Game, Set, Match: The Maurice de Mauriac Rallymaster Swiss Tennis

nniversaries in the watch industry are a dime a dozen, but few manage to blend national heritage, athletic spirit, and independent watchmaking as effortlessly as Zurich-based atelier Maurice de Mauriac.

To mark the 130th anniversary of the Swiss Tennis Association, the brand has served up a dedicated, highly collectible edition of its cult-classic sports watch: the Maurice de Mauriac Rallymaster Swiss Tennis.

Priced at CHF 2,500, this limited-edition release is restricted to just 130 individually numbered pieces worldwide—one for every year of Swiss tennis history.

Designed in collaboration with Los Angeles-based interior designer and watch collector Carlton DeWoody, the timepiece stands out as a genuine celebration of court culture rather than a gimmicky promotional souvenir.

A Studio Dial Rooted in Tennis Heritage

At the heart of the watch is a brilliantly executed opaline silver dial, its icy tone evoking both the snow-capped Swiss Alps and the classic colors of the national game. Spanning horizontally across the center of the dial is the Rallymaster’s signature white tennis net graphic, framing the brand and model lettering.

At 9 o’clock, the dial features the collection’s hallmark small seconds subdial, framed in rich red with yellow accents reminiscent of a tennis ball. Graduated in distinct 20-second sectors, the subdial pays clever homage to the traditional time limit players were historically allotted between points.

Opposite at 3 o’clock sits a date window beneath a Cyclops magnifier. For low-light visibility, the applied markers and handsets are packed with Swiss Super-LumiNova, emitting a brilliant, long-lasting glow that stays legible long after the sun sets over the court.

Ergonomic Steel Proportions and Swiss Mechanical Heart

The watch is housed in an expertly finished 316L stainless steel case measuring an enthusiast-approved 39mm in diameter and 12mm in thickness.

Maurice de Mauriac deliberately opted for high-grade 316L steel for its superior corrosion resistance, fine silver luster, and significantly lower nickel emissions compared to other alloys. The case boasts a 10 ATM (100 meters) water resistance rating and a tactile, easy-to-grip screw-down steel crown featuring an embedded black tennis ball motif.

Beating inside is the automatic Landeron 24 calibre. Operating at a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour (4Hz) across 25 jewels, this reliable Swiss mechanical engine drives the hours, minutes, small seconds, and date functions.

Flipping the watch over reveals a sapphire exhibition caseback featuring the red Swiss Tennis logo printed on the inside of the glass, ensuring the motif never wears off while leaving the pulsating mechanical movement beneath fully visible.

Unboxing an Exclusive Commemorative Piece

Maurice de Mauriac ensures that the unboxing experience matches the exclusivity of the timepiece itself.

Each of the 130 watches comes packaged in a custom presentation box containing a specially produced black tennis ball alongside an extra brushed stainless steel Milanese bracelet equipped with quick-release spring bars for effortless strap swaps.
