To celebrate this monumental leap forward, British independent brand Marloe Watch Company created an extraordinarily rare release: the Marloe Watch Company Watchmaker’s Edition Watch.
Priced at £1195, this commemorative timepiece is strictly limited to just five individually numbered pieces. Built on the brand’s jet-age Pacific case platform, each example is hand-assembled in-house at Marloe HQ by their Head Watchmaker, Alison.
An Ode to the Watchmaker’s Bench
Rather than decorating the watch with generic motifs, Marloe looked directly at the tools, textiles, and daily rituals that define the watchmaker’s bench. The dial, manufactured in the UK by the specialist artisans at Bedford Dials, acts as a visual homage to the craft of micro-mechanics.

The subtle criss-cross line pattern across the main dial plate draws inspiration from the striped fabric of classic watchmakers’ smocks.
At six o’clock, the sunken small-seconds subdial is finished in the signature soft green hue of Bergeon work mats—the anti-static backdrop found on horological benches worldwide.
Framing the layout, the printed minute markers are shaped like the contoured butt ends of traditional Bergeon screwdrivers, perhaps the most ubiquitous tool in a watchmaker’s arsenal.
Sculpted Pacific Architecture
Framing this bench-inspired dial is Marloe’s fluid Pacific case. Measuring 40mm in diameter and 12mm deep with a 20mm lug spacing, the case is sculpted with a continuous upper curvature that flows uninterrupted from lug to lug.
Inspired by mid-century aerodynamic design, the case profile utilizes polished and brushed surfaces to break up visual mass while maintaining a comfortable 70.5-gram head weight.

A box-section sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating tops the case, imparting vintage warmth while casting soft refractions across theSuper-LumiNova BGW9-filled hands and dial markers.
Despite its delicate finishing, the case guarantees a robust 10 ATM (100 meters) of water resistance.

Fittingly for a watch celebrating bench assembly, the Watchmaker’s Edition is powered by a traditional hand-wound mechanical movement: the Swiss Sellita SW216-1. Visible through an exhibition caseback, the movement is customized with bespoke Marloe engraving.
